Hand hygiene is the cheapest, fastest and most effective way to prevent the spread of (resistant) microorganisms and infections. Especially now, with the Coronavirus among us, very topical.

Unfortunately, you see in practice that hand hygiene guidelines are often not followed. There are several reasons for this, but the main one is that the subject is not sufficiently alive among healthcare workers and institutions. Also, little to no compliance studies take place. As a result, employees forget the important rules and do not comply with them sufficiently. Hartmann wanted to improve this and came to Polder Knowledge with this challenge.

Hand hygiene saves lives

The World Health Organization identifies five times when it is necessary for a healthcare provider to disinfect hands. Hand hygiene compliance within healthcare facilities is observed, recorded and visualized with the Observe APP. Even without a WIFI connection (often the case within hospitals).

The Observe App provides insight

The observations provide insight into compliance with hand hygiene procedures. The dashboard provides insight into departmental compliance, how they compare with other departments or healthcare disciplines. For example, improvement initiatives can be checked for success by comparing them to another period.
