Shareforce

As a technical partner, we support the Shareforce development team. Shareforce is a legal operating system for collaborating on, automating, and distributing legal content and contracts between applications, users, and data.

To this day, lawyers use more or less the same - yet different texts - for the same issue and the compromise has to be reinvented every time. With Shareforce, that is changing.

The Case

Law firms and notary offices, companies and governments have the need to have easy and cost-effective access to up-to-date legal models. In practice, however, we see that compiling legal documents often amounts to copying and adapting existing models. These "copy-paste" actions are not without risk and time-consuming. In addition, the degree of correctness, completeness and timeliness of the legal texts are entirely dependent on the (domain) knowledge of the relevant professional. Also a risk, because legislation is not static and continuously subject to change.

On the other hand, we see that people no longer accept high fees for standard documents or for services that could be more efficient. In turn, lawyers and notaries prefer to focus on customization and want to help clients with standard issues as well.

The initiators of Shareforce thought this could and should be done differently.

Technical partner

As a technical partner, Polder Knowledge is working with Shareforce's core development team to build an online platform to create market-standard model contracts. In an iterative process, in which we constantly make adjustments for optimal results, we work continuously on:

• efficiently processing and storing large amounts of data;
• making clauses and model contracts smartly searchable;
• The relationship between original model documents or articles and clones thereof;
• Analysis usage articles within industry, segment, deal value etc.;
• Interpretation of articles and matching with similar articles;
• Automated article suggestion;
• Ranking and voting.

AI (artificial intelligence)

AI is also playing a rapidly increasing role in the legal field. Deep learning, to be even more specific, in which neural networks learn from large amounts of data. Extremely suitable for advising Shareforce users more and more about the legal context of texts, matching with - and suggestions for - similar articles. Correct context information, especially in a legal sense, is of great importance. The interpretation of a single word can already mean a world of difference. Specifically, throughout the context of a document, for example, our AI could recommend a different or improved version of a clause, point out an inconsistency in terminology or even offer insight into relevant case law. Of course, we include the user in the validation (HITL).
