How we work
Our Polder Knowledge method provides room for creativity, with a sharp focus on results. How? First, we dive into your situation: who you are, what’s happening within and outside of your organisation, and what is truly needed. We want to feel and understand that. Then, we unleash our creativity: using the needs of all stakeholders as a starting point, we come up with smart solutions. We work these out into a design and make them tangible with a prototype. Based on user feedback, we continue to develop. It’s an iterative process: step by step, we work towards the final product.

At Polder Knowledge, we develop web applications that truly make a difference. Customization where necessary, standard (open-source) solutions where possible. Pragmatic and Agile. A trendy term perhaps, but it simply means that we work flexibly, in short sprints and with interim deliveries. Always with an eye for the interests and needs of all stakeholders (see the PK method).

Polder Knowledge designs and develops workflows that automate business processes and seamlessly connect systems, data, and decision points.
We build automated workflows with multiple steps, complex approval structures, user roles and permissions, logging, and reporting. These workflow solutions support a wide range of organizational and operational processes.
Where it adds value, we use AI within automated workflows. For example, with AI agents that collect, analyze, enrich, or initiate follow-up steps. This creates AI-driven workflows that are not only automatic but also adaptive and scalable.
At Polder Knowledge, we deploy AI where it really works. We see the perfect use case in automating repetitive tasks to increase efficiency, analysing large data-sets for faster decision-making, and improving customer service through AI-powered chatbots. Data plays a key role in this: after all, if the quality of the provided information is garbage then only garbage can be the expected outcome. That’s why we put a detail on the quality and reliability of our data integrations and its related ontology. Transparency and predictability are essential to us: you need to know how and what input information made the AI reason and produce a certain result. AI should not be a black box.

At a basic level, we understand the power of API integrations and their ability to optimize processes. APIs act as an intermediary layer between software systems, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange. We have extensive experience with both integrating existing APIs and developing custom API integrations.
For TotalEnergies Lubricants, for example, we built an API that communicates with their SAP system, while another API retrieves vehicle information from the RDW. Connecting heritage in practice
Working in a NDE-compliant way means publishing heritage information in such a way that it becomes discoverable, connected, and reusable within the national digital heritage infrastructure. This requires more than just guidelines: it requires concrete choices, technical implementation, and a clear vision for how collections will be cohesive.
Polder Knowledge helps heritage organizations take that step. From NDE-compliant collection management and Linked Open Data to public services that truly make connected heritage visible. Why the name Polder Knowledge?
Our name? It suits us perfectly. Once started by a bunch of guys from Brabant who build smart software with knowledge and common sense. And of course "poldering" is typically Dutch - working together and uniting interests. Exactly what we stand for. Even in our way of working we use, with a wink, our own"Polder model".
How long have you been in business?
Yes, we've been around for a while シ. Polder Knowledge started in 1999 with Mark Willemen. In 2015, we merged with Rob Mulder's YoungGuns, and Mark and Rob have been partners ever since. In 2024, Antoni stepped in as co-owner. With 25 years of experience, with both fuckups and successes, we dare say: we can also take on your challenge. Otherwise, check out our portfolio.
Why Polder Knowledge?
Choosing an IT partner is difficult, not because of a lack of options, but because you are looking for that one partner who really suits you. Just like a real relationship . Sure, we can say we deliver quality, work fast and are cost-efficient. True, but everyone says that. For us, it starts with "the click. We go for a long-term relationship, and yes, it can also just be fun right? This personal touch is noticeable in our cooperation and is reflected in our work. We really want to understand how your business works, where the bottlenecks and opportunities lie.
Who do you work for?
Our client base is nice and diverse, but we mainly focus on medium-sized companies, which is where we can really make a difference. Over the years we have built up considerable expertise in energy, healthcare, culture and science. We have experience in building communities, quality management systems and e-learnings. It was an absolute pleasure to present our “Vincent - Eén en al Oor” project to the data science students at Jheronimus Academy of Data Science yesterday!
The challenge? Dive deep into Vincent’s 900+ letters and capture his `soul` to create authentic and engaging conversations with his Digital Twin. We spent the afternoon with Prof. Plato Leung, Alex Bastiaens and Silviya Velkova answering questions, though we didn’t have all the answers. But hey, that’s why we were there in the first place! There is much to consider, not just the tech and data, but also the business and legal aspects.

Hoe kijken (MBO/HBO) studenten naar persoonlijke ontwikkeling, zijn ze bezig met hun ambitie, kennen ze hun talenten. En hoe zou een App als iSeekMe daarin een rol kunnen spelen. Rick gaat dit eens tot op de bodem uitzoeken. Succes!
