We are polder knowledge
We are Polder Knowledge. We design and create smart online solutions and ecosystems for clients who want to increase their positive impact but (may) not yet know exactly what they need for that. We take an above-average interest in our clients, are curious, eager to learn, and a bit unconventional. This is how we arrive at solutions that are unique and excel in effectiveness. From start and collaboration to results and follow-up, the human touch is always central.
How we work
Our Polder Knowledge method provides room for creativity, with a sharp focus on results. How? First, we dive into your situation: who you are, what’s happening within and outside of your organisation, and what is truly needed. We want to feel and understand that. Then, we unleash our creativity: using the needs of all stakeholders as a starting point, we come up with smart solutions. We work these out into a design and make them tangible with a prototype. Based on user feedback, we continue to develop. It’s an iterative process: step by step, we work towards the final product.
WHAT we create
Is your process struggling, lacking insight, or do you have a brilliant idea? At Polder Knowledge, we build web applications that really make a difference. Customization if necessary, standard (open source) solutions if possible. Pragmatic and Agile. A trendy term, but it simply means that we work flexibly, in short sprints and with partial deliveries. Always with an eye for the needs of all stakeholders (see PK method).
We also know that a Web application does not stand alone. Integration and communication with existing software are crucial. So you get a cost-effective solution that gets you up and running quickly.
Are you about to set up an online community? Great, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve already built the scientific My LifeWatch community, a sourcing marketplace for ValvHub and a mentoring platform for iSeekMe. Each of these are environments where people come together with a common goal. And that’s where it starts: what is the purpose of your community? With the Polder Knowledge method, we make that crystal clear.
The technology? We’ll take care of that, of course. From a solid base with standard functionalities such as user management, connections, news, events and chat, to customized requirements. And last but not least, we provide a scalable, secure and stable setup, so your community can grow.
We translate your data into clear visual overviews. By combining both internal and external data sources, we create dashboards that provide relevant information. We think along with you about how to structure, enrich and align the available data and present it in the right way for each one of your user’s roles. Our dashboards offer filtering, advanced search and reporting capabilities. For clients like Hartmann and TotalEnergies, insight into their KPIs is an essential part of their operations.
Quality management can also be fun, a tool that works rather than a means of control. Polder Knowledge has extensive experience in developing quality management tools, with specific knowledge of HSQE/CAM processes. We have developed solutions for a variety of industries, such as software for inland shipping (PDCA cycle), e-health (compliance monitoring) and annual reporting. Our solutions often include complex approval flows, extensive user roles and rights, logging and reporting capabilities.
Give it to us, and we’ll tie it all together. A bit simplistic, of course, but we understand the power of API integrations and how they can optimise processes. Think of it as a layer between different software packages that allows communication and data exchange to run smoothly. We have extensive experience in both integrating existing APIs and custom development of APIs.
For TotalEnergies, for example, we built an API that communicates with their SAP system. We also built another API that takes care of retrieving RDW vehicle information. Whatever the need, we provide secure and efficient integrations that connect perfectly to your systems and processes. Let that data flow ツ
At Polder Knowledge, we deploy AI where it really works. We see the perfect use case in automating repetitive tasks to increase efficiency, analysing large data-sets for faster decision-making, and improving customer service through AI-powered chatbots.
Data plays a key role in this: after all, if the quality of the provided information is garbage then only garbage can be the expected outcome. That’s why we put a detail on the quality and reliability of our data integrations and its related ontology. Transparency and predictability are essential to us: you need to know how and what input information made the AI reason and produce a certain result. AI should not be a black box.
For us, AI is a tool, not a magic bullet.

FAQ
Why the name Polder Knowledge?
Our name? It suits us perfectly. Once started by a bunch of guys from Brabant who build smart software with knowledge and common sense. And of course “poldering” is typically Dutch – working together and uniting interests. Exactly what we stand for. Even in our way of working we use, with a wink, our own“Polder model“.
How long have you been in business?
Yes, we’ve been around for a while シ. Polder Knowledge started in 1999 with Mark Willemen. In 2015, we merged with Rob Mulder’s YoungGuns, and Mark and Rob have been partners ever since. In 2024, Antoni stepped in as co-owner. With 25 years of experience, with both fuckups and successes, we dare say: we can also take on your challenge. Otherwise, check out our portfolio.
Why Polder Knowledge?
Choosing an IT partner is difficult, not because of a lack of options, but because you are looking for that one partner who really suits you. Just like a real relationship . Sure, we can say we deliver quality, work fast and are cost-efficient. True, but everyone says that. For us, it starts with “the click. We go for a long-term relationship, and yes, it can also just be fun right? This personal touch is noticeable in our cooperation and is reflected in our work. We really want to understand how your business works, where the bottlenecks and opportunities lie.
Who do you work for?
Our client base is nice and diverse, but we mainly focus on medium-sized companies, which is where we can really make a difference. Over the years we have built up considerable expertise in energy, healthcare, culture and science. We have experience in building communities, quality management systems and e-learnings. But rest assured, we love variety and are happy to take on any automation challenge. Check out our services too!
